New York--IBM this week unveiled WebSphere Commerce-Express, a version of its e-commerce platform for small- and midsize-business (SMB) users. According to IBM, the e-commerce platform features an easy-to-use installation that requires half as many steps as the comparable offering from Microsoft, allowing businesses to start building an online store in as little as one hour. The software, which includes a WebSphere Application Server and DB2-Express database, will be generally available on September 30 at a starting price of $20,000.
