IDG rebrands corporate sales as Strategic Marketing Services

Framingham, Mass.—IDG Communications has rebranded its Communications Corporate Sales and Marketing unit as IDG Strategic Marketing Services.

Matthew Yorke, who headed the corporate sales unit as senior VP, has been promoted to president of IDG Strategic Marketing Services. In an interview Monday, Yorke said the rebranding is a recognition that companies such as IDG, which publishes Computerworld, PC World and other tech publications, offers much more than just media these days.

“Today just over one-third of our revenue comes from programs and services that are ancillary to the media part of the business,” Yorke said, pointing out that IDG offers services to marketers such as Web design and hosting as well as social media opportunities.
