IDG to set up media subsidiary in India

Boston—International Data Group said this week it has been granted approval by the Indian government to establish a media subsidiary in India.

IDG said it plans to invest $20 million in India and employ up to 200 professionals over the next five years.

IDG India, with headquarters in Bangalore, plans to produce print and online media, starting with OutSourcing World this June. Indian editions of CIO magazine and Computerworld will be launched in the second half of this year.

N Bringi Dev, with more than 26 years of management experience at such IT companies as Wipro, IBM and Compaq, is president of IDG India.
