Intel, FTC reach tentative settlement

SANTA CLARA, Calif.-Intel Corp. and attorneys for the Federal Trade Commission have reached a tentative settlement in the government's antitrust case against the world's largest chip maker. Details of the proposed settlement, which needs approval by the full commission, were not released. The case was to have been heard Tuesday by an FTC administrative law judge. Intel has been accused by the FTC of using its size to control the microprocessor market.
