LinkedIn expands Targeted Updates feature

Mountain View, Calif.—LinkedIn Inc.'s Targeted Status Updates service, first introduced in April with a handful of beta-testing companies, is now available to all company users. The service gives companies the option of sending updates to recipients defined by company size, industry, function, seniority or geography, either singly or in combination. The updates can also be sent to company employees alone or combined with any of the other categories, according to LinkedIn. The company also announced an upgraded dashboard that shows follower-engagement metrics such as “likes,” shares, comments and the proportion of those interacting with targeted content broken out by demographic data.
