San Francisco—LinkedIn Corp. has revamped its search function, providing consolidated results for people, jobs, groups and companies within a single search box rather than for separate search queries as in the past. Other improvements include an auto-complete function suggesting appropriate query results; automated alerts notifying users when saved search results change; and suggested searches that return results for people or jobs that are related to the original search query, the company said in its blog. LinkedIn also has added a “smart query intent algorithm,” which tracks a user's search activity over time to return the most relevant results, LinkedIn said.
