Magna, Zenith project global ad spending growth next year

New York—Two major media forecasters—Magna and Zenith Optimedia—Tuesday released reports projecting global ad spending growth in 2010.

Magna, a division of Mediabrands, forecast that global ad spending will increase 6.0% next year, with subsequent average growth of 5.0% a year through 2015.

Ad revenues fell 15.0% this year, as the economy saw its worst decline in decades, according to Magna.

In a separate forecast, Zenith Optimedia projected global ad spending will increase 0.9% next year, up from an earlier forecast of 0.4% growth.

In 2011, global ad spending will grow 3.9%, and in 2012 it will increase by 4.8%, according to Zenith.
