Magnetic launches search-based remarketing platform

New York—Magnetic, a search marketing company relaunched Monday by former DoubleClick and Yahoo Director of Engineering Josh Shatkin-Margolis, promises to provide an Internet-wide retargeting platform that relies on previous search data.

Magnetic said it has developed a data marketplace that allows advertisers and publishers to use search data, such as paid-search keywords, as the key indicator of intent, then to apply that information to serve up subsequent display ads, video and other campaigns across the Web.

The company, founded by Shatkin-Margolis, was previously known as Domdex. It was relaunched under its new name following the injection of $1.25 million from venture capital firms NYC Seed and IA Capital Partners.
