Mallin to leave Infogroup, seeks ‘next phase'

Pearl River, N.Y.—Ed Mallin, president of database marketing holding company Infogroup's Services Group, is leaving the company. Mallin currently oversees Infogroup divisions Direct Media Millard, Edith Roman Associates and Walter Karl, all involved in the management of sales-lead lists.

Mallin said he's decided to “pursue the next phase of my career,” noting that the recent changes at Infogroup make “the timing right.” Since the beginning of the year, Infogroup has begun rebranding the company, was sold for $635 million to New York private equity company CCMP Capital Advisors, returned to private-company status, and named former Dow Jones executive Clare Hart as its new president-CEO.

Of Mallin, Hart said in a statement, “He graciously shared his invaluable insights and experiences in the dynamic data and direct marketing industry and we thank him for his service and wish him well.”

Mallin began his direct marketing career 27 years ago as a founding partner of Compilers Plus, which was acquired by InfoUSA, the former name of Infogroup. He will be staying with the company for the next 30 days to complete the transition.
