Marketers to push digital campaigns, hiring

Orlando, Fla.—Marketers plan to invest heavily in social digital campaigns this year and increase the digital expertise of their staffs, according to a new report from the Society of Digital Agencies.

The organization's third annual “Digital Marketing Outlook” found that 69% of marketers, agency representatives and technologists plan to invest in social networks and applications, while 43% said they would decrease investments in paid traditional media. The impact also will be felt in hiring: 68% of respondents said they intend to increase digital staff in their companies this year, up from the 57% who said that in 2010.

The study was based on an online poll conducted from August through October that drew 667 responses.
