In addition to overseeing New York Times Co.'s Internet businesses, Nisenholtz seeks out up-and-coming technologies. This year, the company invested in Betaworks, which developed TweetDeck and and provides seed money for new social Web companies, and Ongo Inc., which is planning to launch a service for consumers to read and share digital content from multiple publishers.
