Mediaedge:cia unites direct, online and search media planning

New York—Mediaedge:cia, a media agency and part of WPP Group’s GroupM, has formed a new unit called MEC Interaction.

The unit unites Wunderman Media, its direct response media planning and buying group; Digital Edge, its online media planning and buying group, and Outrider, its search marketing group. The agency said the Digital Edge brand name will no longer be used.

Rob Norman will head the unit as worldwide CEO. He was previously chairman, Mediaedge:cia U.K. and CEO of Outrider Worldwide.
