Due to an overwhelming response from agencies, this year BtoB has expanded its list of Top Agencies to 75. To compile the list, BtoB contacted agencies from its database of companies that have previously appeared on the list and those that have expressed interest in the report. The report was also promoted online and in print. Submissions were sought beginning in December, with a deadline of Jan. 31. The Top 75 Agencies report includes four categories: Small agencies (revenue up to $10.9 million); midsize agencies (revenue between $11 million and $99 million); large agencies (revenue of $100 million and up); and interactive agencies. Because the Sarbannes-Oxley Act limits the disclosure of financial information, many agencies were unable to provide revenue details. The finalists in each category were selected based on outstanding work in 2005, percentage of business that is b-to-b, client wins and demonstrated growth of business. To be included on the list, agencies must provide full-service marketing communications services, with an emphasis on advertising. Winners of last year's awards were not allowed to win a category this year, but could be named as a runner-up or receive honorable mention.
