Microsoft to buy AdECN

Redmond, Wash.—Microsoft Corp. announced plans to buy AdECN, an online advertising exchange.

Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

AdECN is a real-time auction marketplace for buying and selling online display advertising. The deal further’s Microsoft’s move into the online ad industry. In May, Microsoft announced plans to acquire aQuantive, and online ad agency and ad serving company.
