Microsoft introduces sales service

Microsoft Corp. on Monday launched MSN Media Center, a site designed to make it easier to make buying decisions on the computer giant's array of Web sites. Spearheaded by the advertising sales arm of Microsoft, MSN Media Center allows advertising buyers to describe their desired audience and receive back a list of the best sites among 150 Microsoft properties that accept advertising. When an advertising buyer requests demographic data, the results are automatically linked to rate cards and supporting marketing data. Microsoft, Redmond, Wash., also is using the site to show the power of Microsoft Windows 2000 Server operating system and Microsoft SQL Server 7.0.
