MobileWeek launches mobile and wireless consultancy

San Diego--MobileWeek, which covers the mobile and wireless markets, is forming a mobile and wireless consultancy and market research firm. A formal announcement is expected Monday at the CTIA Wireless IT event.The San Francisco-based firm, co-founded by Compaq Corp. veteran David Hayden, includes a team of mobile and wireless experts from leading companies, such as Compaq, which just agreed to be acquired by Hewlett-Packard Co. in a deal estimated at $25 billion, and Accenture. The company will be built around four disciplines: research, consulting, marketing and networking. Its services will include market research, public relations and special events.The market research division will focus on such topics as wireless adoption, mobile convergence and enterprise deployment of mobile and wireless technology. The division will also cover the Palm vs. Pocket PC wars.In November, MobileWeek will launch its Mobile and Wireless Seminar Series, monthly networking and education events showcasing the latest talent in mobile and wireless technology. The first MobileWeek Conference will be held in the first quarter of 2002 and will cater to an audience of Fortune 1000 enterprise customers.
