Walker succeeds Ross as president-COO at Vance

After more than 30 years at Vance Publishing Corp., Michael H. Ross retired and stepped down as president-COO of the company. Peggy Walker, VP-custom publications at Vance, which publishes Pork, Modern Salon and other magazines, succeeds Ross. Walker joined the company last year after management stints at National Underwriter Co. and Putman Publishing Co.

Ziff Davis Media names licensing, sales VPs

Ziff Davis Media named Kristin Holmes VP-international licensing. Most recently she was executive director of e-seminars for the company. She succeeds Pam Spector, who left Ziff Davis. Holmes reports to Gregory Barton, exec VP-licensing, general counsel and secretary. Also at Ziff Davis, Ken Beach has rejoined the company as senior VP-corporate sales. He succeeds Chris Dobbrow, who left Ziff Davis. Beach was most recently senior VP-national accounts for Primedia's international automotive group.

Jobson Education picks Miller as VP-business development

Jobson Education Group, a division of Jobson Publishing, has named Shannon Miller VP-business development. Miller previously was account director-new business development at Armand Scott.

Brokamp appointed publisher of `Locksmith Ledger Intl.'

Cygnus Publishing, the publishing division of Cygnus Business Media, announced it has promoted Nancy Brokamp to publisher of Locksmith Ledger International. Brokamp joined Locksmith Ledger Publishing Co. in 1994 as sales and marketing manager of the publication. Cygnus Business Media acquired the company in 2001.

Windows IT Pro promotes Forster to editorial director

Karen Forster has been promoted to editorial and strategy director of Windows IT Pro Group, a unit of Penton Media. Forster, who rejoined the Windows IT Pro Group in early 2004 after a stint at Microsoft Corp., supervised the relaunch of Windows IT Pro last year and writes a monthly column, "Hey Microsoft!," in the magazine.
