Arlington, Va.—The bad news continues for the newspaper industry.
Total newspaper advertising revenue, including print and online, declined 28.28% in the second quarter of 2009 compared with the same period last year, according to data from the Newspaper Association of America. It marked the 10th straight quarter of declines for total newspaper ad revenue.
Newspaper ad revenue totaled $6.6 billion in the second quarter. Print revenue fell 29.7% to $5.9 billion, and online ad revenue dropped 13.4% to $696.3 million.
