Northstar Travel acquires

Secaucus, N.J.—Northstar Travel Media, publisher of Travel Weekly, announced it has acquired, which serves the corporate travel management sector, its third deal this year. Northstar currently serves that sector with Business Travel News. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

“The operation will be merged with our Business Travel News brand to form the new BTN Group,” Northstar Travel Media Chairman-CEO Tom Kemp wrote in an internal memo. “The addition of this strong group of people and properties with the leading brand in the industry creates a very strong leadership position for NTM in the corporate travel market.” was founded in 2006 by Tim Reid, Jay Campbell, David Jonas, Louis Magliaro and Mary Ann McNulty to offer digital media and information services to the business travel market. The entire team will be joining Northstar. Reid will lead the BTN Group from the business side; Campbell will head editorial.

Earlier this year, Northstar acquired the Home Based Travel Agent trade shows and the Neilsen Business Media Travel Group brands, including Business Travel News and Successful Meetings.
