New York—Meredith Kopit Levien, former chief revenue officer at Forbes Media, has been named to the newly created position of exec VP-advertising at the New York Times Co. Levien, who will report to New York Times President-CEO Mark Thompson and become a member of the company's executive committee, starts Aug. 5. Mark Howard succeeds Levien as Forbes' chief revenue officer; he had been senior VP-digital advertising strategy for the company since early 2012. Levien joined Forbes from Atlantic Media in 2008 as VP-publisher of ForbesLife and ForbesWoman.com. She was named senior VP-group publisher of the Forbes Magazine Group in 2010 and added the title of chief revenue officer early last year. Howard joined Forbes Media in 2002 as West Region sales director and was named senior VP-digital advertising sales in 2010.
