Online advertising up 13.8% in second quarter

New York—Online ad spending was up 13.8% in the second quarter over the first quarter of the year, according to a study released Monday by Deutsche Bank AG and MediaPost Communications. The study was based on an online survey of 39 media executives earlier this month by online marketing research company InsightExpress. It found that 78% of media executives reported that their clients spent more on Internet advertising in the second quarter than in the first quarter, with 15% seeing increases of more than 30%.
