Oracle boosts social capabilities with Involver buy

Redwood City, Calif.—Database management technology company Oracle Corp. has acquired social media management company Involver, continuing its aggressive purchases of technologies that enhance its marketing solutions. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. Involver has such clients as Best Buy and MTV, and provides social media management services for PR agency Edelman and ad agency Razorfish Inc. The acquisition of Involver, based in San Francisco, augments other Oracle purchases in the social media space, including Collective Intelligence last month and Vitrue in May. These join other recent acquisitions bolstering Oracle's CRM solutions.
