Penton Media announces organizational changes

New York—Penton Media announced a number of organizational changes designed to streamline its operations and better align its brands.

Foremost among the changes is Darrell Denny's promotion to the newly created position of chief revenue officer from senior VP. Denny will work closely with Penton's product group heads to create new revenue streams.

Dan Bagan has been promoted to the newly created position of senior VP-Agricultural & Food Group; he will continue to oversee Supermarket News and Penton's restaurant and baking titles and will also oversee Penton's printing titles. Bob Moraczewski, who had been responsible for Penton's agricultural titles, retired late last year.

Fred Linder, formerly president of Penton's New Hope Media Group, has been promoted to senior VP and will lead an expanded product group that will include all Penton events, trade shows and conferences. The group will introduce a new Health Foods International show in June. Alan Peterson, current head of New Hope Events, will be in charge of event management. Margaret Pederson, president of the exhibitions group, will leave the company in April after assisting in the transition.

Penton is also forming a Technology Media Group. Kim Paulsen, who had been group publisher for Penton's Windows IT Pro Group, has been promoted to senior VP and will take on responsibility for all Penton's technology-related titles.

Penton is also expanding its Financial Services, Marketing Media and Custom Group to include its public service titles and the Transportation, Aviation and Information Data Products Group to include its trailer publications based in Houston.
