New York—Penton's Public Infrastructure group has launched a paid business intelligence service called Govalytics for marketers selling services or products to city and county governments. The software-as-a-service platform tracks total expenditures, capital assets, long-term debt and budgets by department for local governments; provides contact information for almost 25,000 city officials, and will offer data on local capital projects starting in the first quarter of next year. “Government work represents $3 trillion annually, and we wanted to find an easier way to identify opportunities within governments well before the bidding process,” said Gregg Herring, VP-public infrastructure market leader for Penton, in a statement. Penton's government media brands include American City & County, Government Product News and GovPro.
