Piper Jaffray predicts strong online advertising for ’06

Jan. 23 Minneapolis—Online advertising spending increased about 36% in 2005 and will increase about 24% this year, according to a Piper Jaffray industry report released Monday. The financial services company said the forecast for this year was conservative and that online ad spending could rise 30% or more. Piper Jaffray said the increase is coming from new dollars going online, as well as ad spending shifts away from traditional media.
