Pitney Bowes promotes Brand, hires DMA executive Ratan

Stamford, Conn.—Pitney Bowes has named Patrick Brand president of its U.S. mailing business, a new position, and hired Direct Marketing Association Exec VP-COO Ramesh Ratan to succeed Brand as president of the company's Document Messaging Technologies unit.

Prior to heading up Pitney Bowes' DMT division, Brand served as the unit's VP-sales and VP-marketing.

Ratan is leaving the DMA, effective Sept. 18, after which he will take on his new duties overseeing high-speed, high-volume mail production equipment and services at Pitney Bowes. Before joining the DMA four years ago, he worked for VocalTec Communications, Yellow Pages, Packetup, AT&T Bell Laboratories and Lucent Technologies.
