Radio advertising up 1% in Q1

New York—Radio advertising revenue totaled $3.81 billion in the first quarter, a 1% increase over the year-earlier period, according to data released by the Radio Advertising Bureau. Increases in political advertising contributed to the gain, according to RAB. Spot advertising was flat, at $3.05 billion. Network advertising was up 8%, to $282.0 million. Digital advertising was up 10%, to $165 million; and off-air advertising also increased, up 3% to $320.0 million.
