RateXchange debuts bandwidth matching

Published on . said Monday it has completed a trial of a service for bandwidth trading. RateXmatch, which will launch later this month, brings electronic trading to companies that use bandwidth, such as telecom providers, the company said. Using software from Ariba and Oracle, San Francisco-based RateXchange has created a platform to let telecom providers buy and sell wholesale minutes in real time. The platform allows telecom companies to trade excess capacity much like gas and electric companies do today.
