ReachLocal buys reputation-monitoring company SMB Live

Woodland Hills, Calif.—Local online marketing company ReachLocal Inc., which caters to the small and midsize company sector, has acquired reputation management company SMB Live for an undisclosed sum.

The acquisition is expected to enable ReachLocal to provide automated monitoring of review sites, social media sites and blogs to help customers manage their online reputations. SMB Live also brings with it technology that enables customers to publish profiles to local directory sites, search engines and social sites.

ReachLocal is currently registered with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission to go public with an initial public offering in the amount of $100 million. The IPO date has not yet been announced.
