Reed Business CEO Jones expects ‘difficult’ 2010

London—Reed Business Information CEO Keith Jones expects 2010 to be just as “difficult” as 2009, according to an internal memo he wrote that was obtained by Dow Jones Newswires.

In the memo, Jones also said that he wants to boost Reed Business’ online information revenue to 50% of the unit’s overall revenue, according to sources. Jones also said that print will remain a key product for the company and pointed to Variety in the U.S. as an example of this.

This summer, Reed Elsevier, Reed Business’ parent company, said it planned to sell off a large portion of the unit’s controlled circulation magazines while keeping electronic data products such as Reed Construction Data.
