Report: Financial services firms use mobile ads most

New York—Financial services companies use mobile ads more frequently than any other industry, according to a new report by mobile advertising company xAd. xAd’s “Mobile Location Insights, Q1 2013” report found financial services companies were followed by the telecommunications, restaurant, health and beauty, travel and automobile sectors as the most frequent mobile advertisers in the first quarter. The report also identified Houston, Chicago and Los Angeles, in that order, as the U.S. cities targeted the most by mobile advertisers, followed by Philadelphia, Miami and Las Vegas. Southern cities accounted for five of the top 10 cities targeted by mobile advertisers in the first quarter, the most of any region, according to the report, which was based on xAd’s network and campaign data collected January through March from more than 200 national brand advertiser campaigns.
