Report: National advertisers increasingly turn to local online ad campaigns

Seattle—National advertisers this year will increasingly deploy local online ad campaigns to get their messages out, according to a report released Monday by Marchex, a local online advertising company.

The report, “2008 Perspectives on Local Online Advertising and Content,” combines an updated overview of local industry trends with specific tactics for marketers. It identifies several online advertising trends expected to accelerate this year, including the adoption of online ad services by small and midsize businesses, as well as the growing use of local ad campaigns by national advertisers.
