Report shows online advertising rebound

New York--Internet advertising rebounded in 2003, according to a joint report issued by ad serving company DoubleClick and Internet research service Nielsen//NetRatings.

According to "The Year in Online Advertising Report" for 2003, online advertising, not including search, rose to a yearly high of 280 billion impressions in the fourth quarter. Also, the report found that DoubleClick’s ad volume grew 49% between the first quarter and the fourth quarter of 2003.

The report was compiled from DoubleClick ad serving data and Nielsen//NetRatings ad tracking data. It also included online revenue reporting data from the Interactive Advertising Bureau, which found online advertising increased 20% in 2003 to $7.2 billion.
