Sandow Media acquires ‘Interior Design,’ ‘Furniture Today’ from Reed Business Information

New York—Sandow Media, publisher of NewBeauty and Worth, announced Thursday that it has acquired Interior Design, Furniture Today and other titles from Reed Business Information US. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

“This is a rare opportunity for Sandow Media to acquire a group of industry-leading magazines and a very strong management team,” Adam I. Sandow, chairman-CEO of Sandow Media, said in a statement. “These brands each have robust print, digital, event and research businesses, and hold the category-leader position in each of their respective markets.”

In addition to Interior Design and Furniture Today, Sandow Media acquired Gifts & Decorative Accessories, Home Textiles Today, Casual Living, Home Accents Today, Kids Today and Playthings. Sandow Media said it would hire more than 100 employees as a result of the transaction.

“We are more than pleased that our valuable brands and our talented and dedicated employees have found a new home with Sandow Media, a highly creative publishing company that has a tremendous track record under the leadership of Adam I. Sandow,” RBI US CEO John Poulin said in a statement.

Reed Elsevier, RBI US’s parent company, had previously announced plans to sell most of its advertising-supported trade publications. Jordan, Edmiston Group represented RBI in the deal.
