Schonfeld & Associates releases 'Advertising Ratios & Budgets' for 2007

Libertyville, Ill.—Schonfeld & Associates released its 30th annual “Advertising Ratios & Budget” report, which projects ad spending for 2007 across more than 300 industries and more than 5,400 individual companies.

Industries showing the strongest ad growth in 2007 include semiconductors and related devices, which will increase ad spending by more than 13.0%; pharmaceuticals, which will increase ad spending by 10.5%; and wireless communications services, which will increase ad spending by 8.5%.

The automotive industry is expected to be the top-spending industry, with total ad spending of $30.6 billion, a 5.3% increase over 2006.

DaimlerChrysler, Fiat, Ford, General Motors, Honda, Toyota, Volkswagen and Volvo will each spend more than $1 billion in advertising in 2007, the report projected.
