Producer comment: “It’s a very diversified event in terms of audience,” said Lenny Heymann, VP-general manager at Interop. “There are a large number of IT professionals and a large number of business professionals, and it’s also a great platform for analysts and media. ... We’re a 20-year-old brand with tremendous presence in the marketplace and, while we’re a larger event, we’ve always been very focused.”

Exhibitor comment: “It was very successful for us,” said Joanne Wald, director of marketing at BlueCat Networks, Toronto . “This was BlueCat’s first year at Interop. We got quite a bit of press coverage that we didn’t anticipate on our presence there. We were referenced as one of the companies bringing the buzz back. We exceeded all of our targets for leads we wanted to walk away with. We almost doubled the contacts that I’d anticipated. They [Interop] were really organized and extremely helpful [prior to and during the event]. I found that very refreshing. “

Breakdown: Based on the show’s success this year, MediaLive is relaunching its East Coast Interop show-Interop New York 2005-in December. In addition, it is introducing Interop Moscow 2006 next year in Russia in conjunction with Fort-Ross, an IT event organizer.
