Atlanta--Energy company Southern Co. announced Monday the launch of a new national branding campaign, aimed at the financial, policy-maker and large energy user communities. The print campaign will debut Tuesday in The Wall Street Journal. Other placements will include Barron's, The New York Times, Institutional Investor, The Washington Post, Congressional Quarterly and energy industry publications. Additionally,there will be an Internet advertising component to the $8 million campaign, developed by Shepardson Stern Kaminsky, New York. Southern plans to continue sponsorship of the PGA Tour, running TV spots during golf broadcasts throughout the year.
