Company: Inforte Corp., Chicago
Credentials: Apparently no one has told Bligh that the economy is slumping. The 33-year-old head of the Chicago high-tech consultancy lead his eight-year old company to record numbers last year, with net income nearly tripling to $6.9 million and revenues more than doubling compared with 1999. To avoid the mistakes of its competitors, Inforte kept staff numbers down, focused on fundamentals and execution and went after global brick-and-mortar clients rather than dot-com start-ups. "We feel we have a chance to lead this industry from a global perspective," Bligh said. "We’ve already made a good start."
