Spiceworks launches 'social commerce' feature

Austin, Texas—Spiceworks Inc., an IT social network, has started a new program enabling small businesses to automate printer ink and toner purchases from within the Spiceworks website. Spiceworks estimated that this “social commerce” feature will give marketers of ink and toner the opportunity to reach Spiceworks users, who are responsible for 10.9 million printers at more than 1 million businesses. “Today, we're taking a big step forward in helping businesses automate the last link in the IT management lifecycle—the buying process,” said Scott Abel, CEO of Spiceworks, in a statement.
