Strategic Profits’ live video webcast scales to thousands, contributes to revenue and leads

Challenge: Strategic Profits, a business coaching organization for Internet entrepreneurs, was readying the launch of a new online university this year in March. To increase the company’s e-mail database and revenues, the company decided to conduct a live video webcast of company President Rick Schefren’s two-day summit in February.

Since the company anticipated thousands of viewers, selecting the right solutions provider was essential because even a 10-second delay was unacceptable.

Solution: After reviewing several companies, Strategic Profits selected ON24 Inc., a leader in webcasting and rich media marketing solutions, as its provider.

“We realized that only ON24 could provide us with the reliability and scalability that we were seeking,” said Dan Caron, product launch manager at Strategic Profits. “Their extensive experience working with some of the largest webcasters reassured us that they could handle thousands of simultaneous viewers at once.”

Using a film crew on location, ON24 streamed Strategic Profits two-hour seminar to thousands of live, simultaneous viewers. Leveraging ON24’s platform also provided Strategic Profits with a view into the number of attendees and questions asked by viewers.

As Strategic Partners was accepting a limited number of memberships for the new online university on a first-come-first-served basis, ON24’s webcasting platform further enabled Strategic Partners to accept payments and close registration when the membership cap was reached.

Results: When Schefren began the two-hour live video webcast, the response was overwhelming—Within six minutes there were more than 5,000 viewers and the limited number of memberships were selling out. Since the event concluded, the archive of the two-hour video webcast has been accessed more than 4,000 times. The event also provided thousands of new leads for the training company.

Strategic Profits estimates that nearly 70,000 people viewed the organization’s online content, including the two-hour video webcast, as a result of the promotional efforts and momentum from the February live video webcasts. Upon launching the online university in late March, Strategic Profits has generated over $2.8 million in revenues.
