Study: 15 seconds is optimum time for video ads

Atlanta—Online video ads are acceptable to most online viewers but only if they are no more than 15 seconds in length, according to a survey by Poll Position.

The company found that 54% of Internet users felt that a 15-second ad was acceptable to them prior to viewing free content. However, only 12% of respondents said a 30-second ad was acceptable, 4% were willing to accept viewing a 45-second ad and 3% would tolerate an ad lasting 60 seconds.

Poll Position's survey was based on a poll of 1,179 registered voters surveyed by telephone in January.
