Study: Direct marketing hiring remains strong

Owatonna, Minn.—Three out of four direct marketing companies plan to add staff in the first quarter, according to Bernhart Associates Executive Search, in its quarterly survey.

Seventy percent of companies surveyed said they plan to add staff during the first quarter, while only 6% plan cutbacks. That number remains flat compared with the same period in 2005, but the percentage of companies that reported a hiring freeze fell to a low of 7%.

Sales positions are in the highest demand, followed by account management and analysts.
