Study indicates marketing and advertising hiring to increase in third quarter

Menlo Park, Calif.—Eighteen percent of marketing and advertising executives interviewed for the Creative Group Hiring Index for Marketing and Advertising Professionals said they plan to increase staff levels in the third quarter.

The survey also found that 12% expect to cut staff in the third quarter. The previous installment of the index found that 13% of marketing and ad professionals expected to hire in the second quarter, while 12% anticipated making cuts.

The Creative Group, a marketing sector staffing service, developed the national study, which is based on 500 telephone interviews: 375 with marketing executives at companies with 100 or more employees and 125 with advertising executives from ad agencies with 20 or more employees.
