Could AT&T kill the iPhone brand?

Noting the phenomenal growth in Google Android smartphones, which captured a 27% market share among smartphone users in the second quarter, according to Nielsen Co., buzz marketing expert Paul Dunay wonders about Apple's decision to sell its iPhone exclusively through AT&T. “As a brand manager, I would feel constrained by the AT&T brand and be lobbing internally at Apple to set the iPhone free before it's too late,” writes Dunay, global managing director of services and social media at Avaya, in his blog this week.
