TechTarget to trim circulation base of newsletters

Needham, Mass.--TechTarget announced Wednesday that it plans to trim the circulation base of its e-mail newsletters by an average of 50%, converting its e-newsletter titles to a controlled, qualified, direct-request circulation model. The change is slated to take place Oct. 22. TechTarget said the shift was made in response to requests from advertisers, who wanted newsletters that were targeted to a demographically qualified subscriber base. Unqualified subscribers--who will continue to receive TechTarget e-mail newsletters--will not be included in the advertiser rate base.
