Time Warner unit in venture with IDG

New York -- Time Warner's CNN News Group unit entered into a three-year, $50 million strategic alliance with computer-book and magazine publisher International Data Group. CNN Interactive said the alliance evolved out of its year-old content exchange relationship with, the largest network of technology publications on the World Wide Web. Under that agreement, CNN provided headlines and summaries of breaking news to, in return for content for's computing pages. The new alliance includes online and on-air cross-promotion and co-branding of television and Web site content, and CNN will take a minority equity stake in a new IDG online company.
