TNS announces plan to merge its Media Intelligence, Audience Measurement units

New York—Global market information company TNS plans to merge its TNS Media Intelligence and TNS Media Research divisions.

The combined operation will develop new ways to measure digital media, according to TNS, which also said that it is creating additional services in light of increasing media fragmentation and the growth of the Internet.

The announcement of the merger comes a week after Steve Fredericks stepped down as CEO of TNS Media Intelligence.
