TweetUp expands service, changes name to PostUp

Pasadena, Calif.—Twitter search engine TweetUp Inc. will expand its paid-postings service beyond Twitter, to include sponsored bios and updates on LinkedIn and Facebook as well. In the process, the company will change its name to PostUp Inc.

The company, in business just since March, has allowed tweeters to bid on keywords used in their Twitter postings, similar to general search engines' pay-per-click programs. A Twitter posting is given priority on the social network site's search results if the tweeter bid for its specific keywords.

The company said the new service for Facebook and LinkedIn sponsored postings will go live “soon.”

Investors who have pumped an estimated $3.5 million into the company include betaworks, First Round Capital, Index Ventures and Revolution, backed by former AOL CEO Steve Case.
