Volvo buckles up for direct marketing services

Volvo Cars of North America Inc., Rockleigh, N.J., said Monday that it has signed a two-year deal with Newgen Results Corp. to provide direct marketing and call-center support to its retail channel. The deal is the latest example of a large manufacturing company underwriting direct marketing services for a fragmented dealer base. Newgen, which launched the Web site for dealer direct marketing this year, provides software systems that run automobile dealerships. Volvo will help pay Newgen, San Diego, to build customer relationship management (CRM) systems on top of the financial software in an effort to boost dealer revenues for parts and service.
