'Wall Street Journal’ merges New York tech bureau into Media & Marketing Group

New York—The Wall Street Journal has merged the New York technology bureau into its Media & Marketing Group, effective immediately.

In a memo announcing the changes, Marcus Brauchli, managing editor of the Journal, and Bill Grueskin, deputy managing editor, said the move was being made in light of the ongoing blurring between media and technology coverage. Rich Turner, most recently Media & Marketing editor, has been tapped to oversee the combined bureaus. Media reporters Peter Grant and Martin Peers have been named deputy bureau chiefs for the new group.
